Why Siding
Siding is your home’s first line of defense against damaging weather and pests. it’s also one of the most visible parts of your house, so when it fails to do its job, it fails to look the part.
Replacing old siding can seem like a big undertaking, but fortunately, many homeowners only have to do it once. That makes it even more important to do it right the first time, and to address the project before it can lead to other expensive repairs .
If it’s time to replace your siding, consider using a material that’s durable and long-lasting. Draper’s microclimate—stronger canyon winds, higher UV, and fast swing temps—demands an exterior that’s as tough as it is beautiful. Alpine Exteriors LLC designs and installs climate-smart siding systems that protect your home from moisture, sun, and wind uplift while elevating curb appeal. From full tear-offs and substrate repairs to fiber-cement, premium vinyl, and engineered wood accents, our crews deliver crisp lines, watertight details, and finishes that stay sharp for years.
A top choice on Draper’s east bench, fiber-cement resists fire, rot, and insects while maintaining tight lines and paint retention. Factory color finishes offer excellent fade protection under high UV. Choose smooth modern lap for contemporary architecture, wood-grain lap for traditional warmth, and board-and-batten or staggered shakes for gables and focal areas.
Modern, thicker-gauge vinyl stands up to warping and chalking and now includes color tech that resists sun fade. Insulated vinyl adds R-value and quiets road noise. Profiles run from classic lap to vertical panels for modern farmhouse looks—an efficient upgrade when you want low upkeep without sacrificing style.
Engineered wood combines the look of natural timber with moisture-resistant binders and factory priming. It’s ideal for board-and-batten accents, shake details, and mixed-material façades (stone + composite) that give Draper homes a refined mountain-modern feel.
An exterior lasts only as long as the weatherproofing behind it. We build durable wall systems with:
Mix horizontal lap on the field with vertical board-and-batten on gables for depth. Wider trim (5/4 x 4 or 5/4 x 6) sharpens shadow lines, and soffit/fascia packages finish the roof edge with clean geometry.
Choose fade-resistant mid and deep neutrals—charcoals, pewters, cedar tones, desaturated blues/greens—then pair with crisp white or natural-wood accents. We’ll place full-size samples on your elevation so you can compare morning vs. late-day light.
Add powder-coated metal panels, cedar-look accents, or black window trim for a mountain-modern palette that’s popular across Draper—and engineered to last.
Pair siding with insulated sheathing, balanced attic ventilation, and high-performance windows to reduce drafts, quiet outside noise, and stabilize temperatures. Many Draper clients report noticeably quieter interiors and lower energy bills after a proper envelope upgrade.
For hail or wind damage, we provide targeted repairs and color/profile matching. You’ll get documented findings for insurance, and repairs are completed to manufacturer specs to keep warranties intact. Where colors are discontinued, we propose closest matches and discrete transition strategies.
Budgets vary by home size, details, and product line, but most Draper projects fall into these broad ranges:
We’ll bring samples, walk you through look-and-budget options, and map a schedule that respects your time. Expect tidy work, consistent communication, and results that look great through Utah’s toughest seasons.
Q1: What siding performs best against Draper’s wind and sun?
A: Fiber-cement and thicker-gauge, wind-rated vinyl excel when installed to spec with correct fasteners and starter systems. Engineered wood also performs well when rainscreened and properly flashed. We’ll recommend based on your exposure, design goals, and budget.
Q2: Can you blend new siding with existing elevations for partial projects?
A: Often, yes. We source broad profile/color lines and can create clean transitions. If a color is discontinued, we’ll propose the closest match and an accent strategy so the change looks intentional.
Q3: How long will my project take?
A: Most single-family Draper homes wrap in 7–14 working days, depending on scope, weather, and custom details (gables, shake accents, metal trims). You’ll receive a day-by-day plan and status updates throughout.
